Using the Cherokee Heritage Trails site
Cherokee Heritage Trails provides a unique opportunity to visit Cherokee people where they live, work and raise their families. North Carolina towns on the Trails include Cherokee, Robbinsville, Franklin and Murphy. Click on links to each of these towns to learn about the important role they play in Cherokee history and legend, as well as where to find major museums, memorials, and historic sites open to the public. An events calendar lists major festivals, fairs, dance, plays and other opportunities to experience authentic Cherokee foods, dance, spoken word, craft, sports and other expressions of their heritage and culture. And profiles of local Cherokee artists recognize those who have dedicated their lives to practicing traditional Cherokee arts and crafts, storytelling, and spirituality and have passed those traditions on to the next generation.
